Tour Description
Board our comfortable ferry from Fremantle to Rottnest Island for a day of island life. Once you arrive, feel free to explore at your own pace, uncovering the history and stories of the island along the way.
Famous for its colony of cute and furry quokkas, the island also boasts an interesting history which can be seen in the displays and monuments of the main settlement of Thompson's Bay.
Visit the Information Centre for maps and guides to the island and you can then set out to explore the rest of the island such as the bays and beaches that abound on the shoreline. You can hire snorkel equipment for the day (add-on in booking form) and explore the underwater world around the shoreline too. tory of the island,
As Rottnest Island operates on peddle-power, there are no cars on the island, all transport is either by bus or bicycle. If you would like to include bike hire in your booking, please see the alternative tour here. You might choose instead to take advantage of the public transport buses that run loops around the island for a small fee - very handy to get around.
Quokkas may be the cute animal of choice for most people on Rottnest, but there are also colonies of seals and sea lions that call the island home. During the whale migratory season (Sept to Nov) you may be lucky to catch these majestic animals as they pass by close to shore.
Once you've had your fill of island life, head back to the Jetty to board your ferry back to Fremantle, where you'll arrive around 5.00pm to end your day.
